Gary Kenneth Mainor, 65, of Phenix City, passed away on February 7, 2012. He was born January 31, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Ernest Calvin Mainor and Mary Frances Driver Mainor. Other than his parents Mr. Mainor was preceded in death by his first wife, Dana Mainor.
Mr. Mainor served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Funeral services for Mr. Mainor will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus, with Reverend Jimmy Little officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Mainor will be from 1-3 pm, Friday, February 10, 2012 at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Sheffield Mainor; his children, Kenneth Mainor, Brandi Mainor both of Panama City, FL, and Kevin (Mary) Mainor of Inverness, Scotland; three step-daughters, Cynthia Smith, Sandy Flynn and Kim Martin all of Phenix City, AL; six grandchildren, Grace, Jed, Dixie, David, Zoey and Lilly; eight step-grandchildren, Billy, Brandon, Julia, Jasmine, James, Nicolla, Bradley, and Austin; two step-great grandchildren and two brothers, David Mainor and Douglas Mainor (Carol).
Pallbearers will be; Jed Mainor, Michael Cappiello, Cecil Martin, Brandon Harrell, Billy Smith, and George Flynn.
