Gary Wayne Nicholson, age 43, resident of Columbus, died on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside services are scheduled at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery, Haleyville, Alabama on Monday, January 2, 2012 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia on Sunday, January 1, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. Survivors include his mother, Hong T. Nicholson; four sons, Christopher Wayne Nicholson, Thomas Wayne Nicholson, Benjamin Wayne Nicholson, and Jonathan Wayne Nicholson; one step-daughter, Victoria Lee Ross; sister, Rose Marie Nicholson; brother, Timothy Wayne Nicholson; former spouse, Katherine Nicholson; and companion, Julie Ross.
