Gaynell J. Milam

Services for Mrs. Milam will be held 11:00 am, Friday, June 30, 2017 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA with burial at Parkhill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 6-8 pm, in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby.

Mrs. Milam was born January 31, 1931 in Prattville, AL, the daughter of Ila Mae Hood Byrd and Virgil H. Byrd. She worked many years in the medical field and later joined her husband and sons in their family owned business, Triple-B Truck Body Co. from which she retired. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Harris County, where she taught the Adult Ladies Bible Study for about 20 years. She is preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice Dixon Weekley, Virginia Gregory and Mary Ann Roberts, her partner and husband of 61 years, Charles E. Milam.

Survivors include four sons, Charles Wayne Milam, Danny Gene Milam, wife Teresa, Brent S. Milam, wife Fonda, Bruce R. Milam, wife Ann, one daughter Charlotte D. Johnson, husband Steve, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
