Milton graduated from Jordan High School in 1942 and attended UGA. Early in life, he proudly served as a tail gunner for the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II and later owned Staley Seafood. At Hilton Terrace Baptist Church, Milton was named Deacon Emeritus and studied with the Andrew Sunday School Class.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gail Browning Staley; son, Joey Staley (Beth); sister, Mary Jo Lockhart; grandson, Ty Staley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean, and sons, Jeffrey and David.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 21, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA with burial at Parkhill Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hilton Terrace Baptist Church or Columbus Hospice.
