Gladys Mae Brown Stratigos

Gladys Mae Stratigos, 84, Columbus, GA, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Stratigos was born October 6, 1930, in Birmingham, AL to her late parents Sid Harris Brown and Ethel Brown. She attended Rose Hill Baptist Church and was an active member of her Sunday School Class. Ms. Gladys was an avid reader and she loved to cook. Her passion was having family gatherings and dinners.

The family will receive guest for a reception and visitation Tuesday, September 22, 2015 12:00 pm- 1:00 pm in The Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA, followed by a 1:30 pm Graveside Service at Riverdale Cemetery with Reverend Mitch Hughes officiating.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Stratigos is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Theodore Stratigos; son Steven Thomas Stratigos; and grandson, Preston Stratigos Smith. She is survived by one son, John (Debbie) Stratigos of Gray, GA; Two daughters, Diana (Johnny) Whitener of Columbus, GA, and Judy (Lewis) McGowan of Auburn, AL; grandchildren, Charles Andrew (Ali) Smith, and Nicholas Adams Stratigos; and great grandchildren, Lillian Grace Smith and Sarah Beth Smith; extended family members and many friends.
