Glenda J. Baggett, age 61, resident of Smiths, AL., died on Monday, March 8, 2010. Memorial services will be held at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, on Friday, March12, 2010, 6 p.m. with Reverend Danny Courtney officiating. Mrs. Baggett, daughter of the late Vernon Louie Yancey and Laura Burdell Cox Yancey, was born October 12, 1948 in Columbus. She was a homemaker, Baptist by faith, and a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary. Mrs. Baggett was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Napierala; two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bobby Baggett of Smiths, AL; three daughters, Mitzie Stone and her husband James of Phenix City, AL, Kathy Wright of Jacksonville, FL, and Tori Baggett of Smiths, AL; one brother, Ronnie Yancey and his wife Floe of Richland, GA; four grandchildren, Megan and Sarah Stone and Stormy and Aaron Sears; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Muscogee County Humane Society, 7133 Sacerdote Lane, Columbus, GA 31907.
