Mr. Gregory Brown was born February 26, 1963 in Richland Stewart County, Georgia to the late Mr. Willie albert Brown, Sr. and the lates Mrs. Mary Jane Brown. He received his education at the private institution Hallie Turner in Columbus, Georgia. He proudly served 11 years in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at St. James Baptist Church.
He was a loving father, mentor, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit touched the lives of many. He had a natural presence that drew a crowd, and his passion for freestyle rap reflected his creativity and vibrant personality. His legacy of love, laughter, and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: six children: Neshanna Bennett of Louvale, Georgia, Gregory Sexton Brown of Seattle, Washington, Alexandra Ezenwekwe of Cusseta, Georgia, Savone Washington of Columbus, Georgia, Shania Griggs of Cusseta, Georgia, and Akayla Grigsby of Seattle, Washington; eleven grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Ruth Holtzclaw of Columbus, Georgia and Mrs. Hazel Crawford of Columbus, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Willie A. Brown, Jr. of Cusseta, Georgia and Mr. Arthur L. Brown of Ashburnham, Massachusetts; and joins his beloved sister, Mrs. Earetha Tymes who preceded him in death, and his dear friend Kesia Rembert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gregory Brown will be held on July 11, 2026, at 3:00 pm in Fisher Chapel at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A Wake and Visitation for Family and Friends will be held in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on July 10, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
