Lupe and Ish were married for 60 years and made their home in many places while Ish served in the U.S. Army. They lived in Kentucky, Alaska, Panama, Maryland, Texas, and finally settled permanently in Columbus, Georgia.
Lupe was beloved by many and known for her green thumb and beautiful garden of giant hydrangeas. She was a master seamstress, a skilled cook of traditional Puerto Rican dishes and for being a loving, faithful prayer warrior and witness for Christ.
She was a lifelong contributor to charities, making hundreds of rosaries for missionaries and continued donations to St. Jude Children’s hospital. Lupe was a longtime, devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of Horizons for the loving care they gave to Mom while she was a resident at The Oaks of Grove Park.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, August 17th at 10am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1953 Torch Hill Road, Columbus.
