Hamilton, the son of Dr. James H. Johnson and Brandilyn Dockens Johnson, was born in Columbus, Georgia on January 9, 2006. He attended St. Luke School and Brookstone School. He was attending Dalton State College in Dalton, GA.
Hamilton was a bright and remarkable young man with a quick wit, an incredible command of words, and a mind that was always thinking deeply. He was a talented writer and speaker with a natural ability to express himself. Beneath his quiet and introverted nature was a gentle heart, with a special tenderness, deep spirituality and love for God.
Hamilton was a frequent volunteer at Paws Humane Society, a cause that was dear to his heart from a young age. Hamilton found his best friend and loyal companion, Sam, there in 2016 and the two became inseparable.
Hamilton was also a blossoming entrepreneur, analyzing business ideas thoroughly, and had exciting plans in the works.
Those who loved him will always remember his beautiful smile, his humor, and the unique person he was.
Above all, Hamilton was a deeply loved son and brother. His life was far too short, and his absence leaves an immeasurable hole in the hearts of his entire extended family and all who loved him. Hamilton will be loved, missed, and carried in our hearts forever.
Hamilton is survived by his maternal grandparents, Ann and Earl Dockens, his parents, Jimmy Johnson and Brandilyn Dockens Johnson; his brother, Landon Johnson; his brother Jason Johnson and sister-in-law Brittany May Johnson, and their children Hunter May and Hampton; his sister, Lindsay Johnson Pilcher and brother-in-law, Will Pilcher and their son, Wilson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. He also leaves behind his beloved dog and faithful companion of ten years, Sam.
Hamilton is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dr. CD and Alice Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation mailed to River City Recovery Scholarship Fund (3822 Rosemont Dr., Columbus, GA 31904) which will support individuals undergoing treatment, or Paws Humane Society (https://pawshumane.org/ways-to-give/).
