

Arrangements under the direction of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.Helena “Boo” Hill Tuggle, 78, of Columbus, passed away March 19, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. Mrs. Tuggle was born January 23, 1936 in Columbus, to the late Terrell Wingfield Hill, Jr. and his wife Helena Dismukes Hill, the granddaughter of Columbus Industrialist, E. P. Dismukes. She was the past owner of Silver Spoon Gift Shop and worked many years with Wynnton Methodist Church as well as Trinity Episcopal Church, where she was a lifelong member. She was a member of the Tea Olive Garden Club, Colonial Dames, Jr. League of Columbus, former member of Green Island Country Club and Wednesday morning prayer group. Her passion was her Church and the Atlanta Braves.
A Celebration of Life will be held March 24, 2014, 2:00pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1130 1st Ave. Columbus, GA., followed by a Committal Service at Linwood Cemetery, with Father Tim Graham officiating.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Tuggle is preceded in death by her husband; Thomas Shaw Tuggle, Jr., two daughters; Terrell Tuggle Adams, and Isabel Virginia Tuggle, and a brother; Terrell Wingfield Hill, Jr. She is survived by two sons; Thomas Shaw (Cathy) Tuggle, and John Flournoy (Ann) Tuggle, son in-law Thomas Edwin Adams, Jr.,and sister in-law Paula Douglass Hill, ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Many cousins,nieces, nephews, and countless special friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Tuggle’s caregivers and special thanks to the staff of St. Francis Hospital. In lieu of flowers donation may be given to Trinity Episcopal Church. Condolences may be offered at www.shcolumbus.com
