Ingeborg M. Gray, 90, of Columbus, Georgia passed away peacefully on Friday morning the 5th of November in the year 2021. She was born in Nurnberg, Germany on the 23rd of July in 1931. Inge was the only child to Margarete and Johann Weiss, she was raised by her grandmother “Oma” Margarete Bladel after the death of her parents during World War II. Inge met the love of her life, John on a blind date. Even though there was a language barrier between them they dated for many months and were married in Nurnberg, Germany. Shortly after their marriage, Inge and John were blessed with their daughter Evelyn. John’s military career took him many places, settling the Gray family into the Columbus area. When John retired, traveling with him and seeing the world was Inge’s favorite past time. If she wasn’t traveling with John she could be found enjoying homelife and tending to her flowers around her yard. Inge loved her precious “Coco”.
My heart is broken, life as I know it will never be the same, Mommy and Daddy will always be in my heart. I have so many memories and I pray that one day the many tears I cry will one day be tears of joy-Evelyn.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughter Evelyn L. Gray; her cousin Renate Youmans and her daughter Becci Methvin and son Thomas (Jana) Youmans and Becci’s daughter Lauren (Rhett) Carter, Thomas and Jana's daughter Joy Youmans and cousin Ingeborg Michel. She is preceded in death by other than her parents Margarete and Johann Weiss, her loving husband John; her Oma Margarete Bladel, Aunt Sophie Meyer, Uncle Alfred Meyer, cousin Heinz Michel and Becci’s son Matthew Methvin.
