Arrangements under the direction of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA, James Donald Barefield, 80, of Columbus, GA passed away at home under the helpful care of Columbus Hospice, Saturday, November 25, 2017. The family will welcome guests for a Graveside Service, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:00 am in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA.
James was born October 19, 1937 in Columbus, GA, to his late parents William and Frances Britt Barefield. Before retiring, he owned and operated Jacob’s Quick Stop in Cataula, GA. James loved playing Golf with his brothers, visiting with his family, and was an avid Auburn football fan. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, Mr. Barefield is preceded in death by: his daughter Donna Barefield and his brother Ricky Barefield. He is survived by: his wife, Judy Barefield; children, Donnie (Tina) Barefield, Wayne (Laura) Barefield, Chris (Mandy) McDowell, Rodney Barefield, and Emily Davenport; brothers, Robert Barefield, Jimmy Barefield; his sister, Barbara Rolling; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
