James R. Jones (Randy) never met a stranger he came in touch with, passed away at Skyline Nursing Center in Dallas, Texas on September 13, 2026 at the age of 72. Randy was born on March 9, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas to William Duncan Jones (Bill) and Mildred Frances Thannisch.
Randy attended Coronado High School and graduated in the class of 1972. He was a Vietnam Veteran, after serving in the Army he attended (LLC) Lubbock Christian College then transferred to Texas Tech University and graduated with a master's degree in History.
Randy worked as an Inventory Specialist for several different companies in multiple states.
Randy liked to go fishing and he had a passion for college football and history. He also loved his family and it was everything to him.
Survivors are his brother Brent P. Jones Sr., Nephews, great nieces, great-grand-nieces and nephews.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol, and brother William (Lil-Bill).
