Jamison Ray Sankey

Jamison’s life reflected a steady compassion and a quiet resilience—qualities that shaped the way he moved through the world and the care he extended to others. With a kind-hearted spirit and a grounded presence, he leaves a memory marked by sincerity, patience, and enduring strength.

He graduated from Lyman Ward Military Academy in 1987, carrying forward the discipline and determination that would remain evident throughout his life. In 2025, Jamison achieved another meaningful milestone when he graduated from Columbus Technical College with his associate’s degree in Auto Body Repair and Welding, a testament to his perseverance and commitment to continual growth.

Jamison found purpose and peace in working with his hands and imagination. His interests included art, Lego sculptures, video production equipment repair, and wood working—pursuits that spoke to both his creativity and his careful attention to detail. In these quiet, thoughtful endeavors, those who knew him best could see the same gentle steadiness that defined his character.

A member of Rivertown Church, Jamison valued faith and community, and his presence there was one more way his considerate nature and compassionate heart were shared beyond his home.

Jamison Ray Sankey will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who had the privilege to know him, and his life will continue to be honored in the hearts of those he touched.

Jamison is preceded in death by: his father, Robert Thomas Sankey; his grandparents, Ray and Betty Tew; Akel and Theodore Sankey; and an aunt, Raelene Newell.

Survivors include: his mother, Corliss Faye Sankey; his cousins, Brandon and Rebecca Adkinson; his second cousins, Cloe and Halley; numerous aunts and uncles, Richard Newell, Barbara Mallis, Donna and George Hall, Jackie and Bill Dougherty, Edwin and Joanne Sankey, Ron and Ronnie Sankey, God Sister and family, Dawn, Brantley, Paul, Taylin, and Laykin Paul; friends, Donald and Brenda Jernigan, Donna Dougherty, and Gail and Allen Minton.
