Jane Hester Cummings

Jane Hester Cummings, 61, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. Memorial service is scheduled for Friday, February 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA with Reverend Mark Magoni officiating. Inurnment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday February 4, from 5:00-7:00 PM in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler- Hamby.

Mrs. Cummings was born August 14, 1954 to the late William M. and Mable Phelts Hester. She was a homemaker and had been a lifelong resident of Columbus, GA. Mrs. Cummings was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Flamingo Bridge Club, a former member of the Junior League of Columbus and was involved in Precept Bible study at Wynnbrook Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband James E. Cummings, Jr. of Columbus, GA; three daughters, Abbie Cummings Stallcup (Scott) of Pooler, GA., Sara Cummings Carver (Casey) of Columbus, GA and Katie Gray Cummings of Columbus, GA; two sisters: Patty H. Callaway (Hugh) of Cleveland, TN and Peggy H. Ledford (Bobby) of Columbus, GA; five grandchildren, Leighton Stallcup, Remi Stallcup, Stone Stallcup, Case Carver and Jack Carver.
