OBITUARY
Janice Priscilla (Wells) Eller
October 20, 1942 – February 21, 2021
Janice Priscilla (Wells) Eller, age 78, of Fortson, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021. A visitation for family and friends for Janice will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A graveside celebration of Janice's life will occur Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Union United Methodist Church, Highway 41, Buena Vista, Georgia.
Janice was born October 20, 1942 in Columbus, Georgia. The daughter of Robert H. Wells and Sybil L. Wells. Janice was raised in Buena Vista, GA, where she attended Marion County High School before moving to Columbus, where she graduated from Jordan High School. During her High School years, Janice, was in the Methodist Youth Fellowship, played basketball, and was in the library club. She attended and graduated from Okaloosa Walton Community College (Northwest FL State) with an Associate’s Arts Degree and Troy State University with a Bachelor’s in Business. Janice Priscilla Wells (Eller) was married to Sherman Eugene Eller Sr. on Sept 10, 1960 in Columbus GA. Janice was a military wife and eventually settled in Niceville, FL where she raised her family. As her kids were growing up; Janice spent many years coaching softball, being a little league team mom, and girl scouts/cub scouts den mother. She was a member of the Woman’s Business League, played Woman’s league softball, and was on several bowing leagues. Janice was a Civil Servant and worked as a contract secretary at Eglin Air Force Base. She loved reading, cross-stitching and gardening, however animals held a special place in her heart; she was the kennel manager for several years at Pet Welfare on Eglin AFB. First Baptist Church of Niceville. When she moved back to GA in 2003 she was a volunteer for couple years at Callaway Gardens and she was able to attend Epworth United Methodist Church on many occasions with her mother Sybil Wells. What Janice enjoyed most was her family, she cherished them, especially her grandchildren.
Janice is preceded in death by: her Mother, Sybil L Wells; her father, Robert H Wells; her Brother, R. Eddie Wells, and ex-husband Sherman Eugene Eller Sr.
Survivors include: her son, Sherman Eugene Eller Jr and his wife Laurie Eller; her daughter, Toni Lynette McCormick, her longtime boyfriend Donnie Morgan; her grandchildren, Kyle Eller (wife Erica), Cory Eller (wife Jessica), Danielle McCormick, Cody Cook; and her brother, Alvin P. Wells (wife Pamela).

I worked with Priscilla at Eglin AFB FL. I was sorry of reading of her passing this morning in our Daily News. We shared many laughs while working at Eglin. My sincere condolences to her children and grandchildren.
