Janice Sue Reed Pierce went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, in Columbus, Georgia. The Pierce family will welcome friends for visitation on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia. At 3:00 pm, Mrs. Pierce will be laid to rest in the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum with Reverend Larry Rollins officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Pierce was born to the late Mary Teresa Jarrell and Clarence Eugene Reed on February 21, 1944 in Opelika, Alabama. Married to Jimmie R. Pierce, Janice would build memories between the two of them and their families. If you were ever looking for Mrs. Pierce you would find her covered in flour from baking, or watching old movies with family, or even cuddling with her beloved cat, Kiki. She devoted her time at St. Peter United Methodist Church or advocating for P.A.W.S. Humane of Columbus—an organization near and dear to her heart.
Janice is survived by: her devoted husband, Jimmie R. Pierce; children Michael D. (Theresa) Bostick of Opelika, Alabama, Randall Pierce of Miami, Florida; Crystal (Karl) Malecki of Atlanta, Georgia, and Laurie (Howard) Stephens of Columbus, Georgia; grandchildren Michaela Bostick, Amber Krause, Lauren Gammon, Chelsea Headley, Tyler Pierce, and Koby Stephens; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss her and treasure her memory forever.
Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to P.A.W.S Humane of Columbus at 4900 Milgen Rd. or St. Peter United Methodist Church at 6507 Moon Rd. in honor of her memory.
