Janie Zealon Smith Brooks Hunt

Janie Zealon Smith Brooks Hunt, 90, born November 5, 1919 passed away on November 4, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. Burial will be at Parkhill Cemetery, Monday, November 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256.

Survivors include a son, Arthur Fredrick Hunt and his wife Jan; three daughters, Jayne Louise King and her husband Jeff, Carla Anne Lampp, Zealon Alicia Goodroe and her husband Donnie; four grandchildren, Melissa Lampp Sumner and her husband Michael, Jane Lampp, Ashley Zealon Goodroe and Clayton Ferris Goodroe; three great-grandchildren, Ben Sumner, Ethon Sumner and Andrew Sumner as well as sister, Patsy Phelts.

Z was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She has departed from this life and moved to eternal life. While here she touched the lives of family, friends and many others. Every one that she met was important to her and Z’s acts of kindness and giving touched many. We will miss her dearly but we know she is in heaven with our Heavenly Father. “We know tomorrow is another day, but we will miss you everyday,” rest in peace Z.
