Jeanette was born the second of nine children to her parents, Gilbert Ray and Lula Mirandy Peters Zuback. Her twin sister was Geneva Zuback Edwards. Jeanette never married but she lived a full life. She traveled to many parts of the world – Canada, China, Japan, England, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, France, South America, and more. She also travelled to most of the states in the US.
She was the aunt who spoiled all the nieces and nephews who she loved dearly all her life.
To advance her career, she entered college 20 years after she graduated from Baker High School in 1947. Jeanette graduated Cum Laude from Columbus College (now Columbus State University) in 1977 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.
Jeanette retired in 2000 from Fort Benning after many years of civil service. She spent much of her time volunteering at St Francis Hospital in Columbus as a ”Pink Lady, with the American Red Cross, as a Poll Worker with Muscogee County, and more. She was also a long and valued member of Evangel Temple (now Evangel Church).
While her parents were living, Jeanette thoroughly enjoyed visiting them in their home in the Oakland Community of Marion County to do the chores her parents were no longer able to do. At the end of the day, she sat with them at their table to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by her mother, Lula, which Jeanette called “just a little bit of heaven”.
Jeanette is survived by two brothers, Melvin Gene Zuback (Martha) and George Lesley Zuback of Cottonton, AL, a sister Connie Sue Z Langgood (Bob) from Marana, AZ, and many nieces and nephews, plus grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Family who pre-deceased Jeanette include: Father and Mother, Gilbert Ray and Lula Peters Zuback. Brother Raymond Zuback (Lou) and sisters Geneva Z Edwards (Louis), Peggy Z Henderson (Jimmy), Ouida Z Fuller (Hiram), Marcelle Z Woodruff (Woody).
