Jeremy David Robertson, 37, of Columbus, GA, passed away at his residence on October 8, 2021. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at 11AM in the chapel at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.

Jeremy was born on February 1, 1984 to Lisa Michele Condrey and David Franklyn Robertson in Columbus, Georgia. He graduated from Hardaway High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. He played football in high school and college and earned two national championship rings during his time at App State.

Jeremy could look intimidating but everyone knew he was an “Unofficial Teddy Bear.” When his cousins were younger, they would climb on him like a giant jungle gym. He was a big kid at heart and to know him was to love him.

Jeremy started his career in law enforcement working for the Muscogee County Sheriff’s office and had given 10 years of service. He was proud to be a deputy and took the responsibility of his work seriously. The job was stressful and he loved to joke around and play pranks on people to get a good laugh and, hopefully, put a smile on their face.

On April 13, 2018, Jeremy married Crystal Jackson, the love of his life. He was a hardworking, dedicated husband. His proudest moment was May 18, 2019 when their baby girl was born: he loved Emma Bean fiercely.

Jeremy loved spending time at home with his family. He enjoyed video games and collecting Dead Pool comic books. He also loved the beach and hanging out by the pool. Jeremy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin Robertson and Vivian Louise Robertson.

Jeremy will be forever missed by his wife, Crystal Hiwana Jackson; daughter, Emma-Louise Michelle Robertson; mother, Lisa Michele Condrey Brosch; father, David Franklyn Robertson; grandparents, Harry and Mary Condrey; and his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to the American Heart Association. To leave an online condolence to the family, please visit www.shcolumbus.com

My dearest nephew, there are no mortal words that will take away the pain and shock of your loss. I'm so thankful that I got to hug you Sunday and spend some time with you, Crystal and beautiful little Emma! Watching you grow (from a kindergartener getting a red cone for talking) to a giant on the football field was a joy to behold. Hug your Greatgrandpa (Melvin "Bear" Robertson and your Great grandmother (Louise); the uncle you never met, Wayne; cousins, Chris and Reid for us! 2 Timothy 4:7 The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
Go rest high on that mountain! I love you and miss you till we meet again in paradise. Aunt Sandy

My heart is broken. I loved every moment of watching you and Ross play football at App State. Truly a gentle giant with a huge heart and a love of laughter. My favorite picture is the one where your head was shaved as a freshman. Sending hugs to your wife, baby girl and mom and dad. I know words do not help much but know that you are covered in prayer. Love always, Tina Grall

What a perfect tribute to Jeremy! His smile in the picture is perfect as well.
I rode with Lisa to App State to watch Jeremy play football. They played against Furman University in what was the first must-win game that led them to their first National Championship. What a game it was!! Cold. Scoring back & forth. Jeremy playing so calmly & cooly. App State winning in the last minute! Such a great time.
Lisa, I love you. Praying for you & the rest of your family.

My deepest sympathy to The Robertson family. Jeremy (Patch), as we called him at App State was more than a teammate, he is family. He was one of the guys who protected me every saturday on the football field, so it was no surprise that he went into law enforcement to protect and serve. I would always try to catch Patch after the games so I could have a word with his dad before he headed back to Georgia. You will truly be missed Patch!!!!!

Love Ya,
