Jesse E. Walker, 95, of Columbus passed away on April 15, 2011. He was born June 15, 1915 in Winston Mississippi to the late George and Lena Walker. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, April 18, 2011 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the funeral home. Other than his parents Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Walker and a brother, Woodrow Walker. Mr. Walker served his country in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by one son, Jesse Neal Walker, two daughters, Sandra (Scott)Callen of Phenix City and Ann (Bob)Hancock of Columbus, three grandchildren, Tracy Lowery, Stephanie Catrett and Jessica Roberts eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
