He was the son of the late Jimmie V. and Claire L. Sharpe of Columbus, GA, born on October 11, 1949 in Ft. Ord, CA. He is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Moreau (NH), brother Robert Sharpe (TN), and nephew Timothy Moreau (NH).
Jimmie is survived by his brother, Richard E. Sharpe (Columbus); sisters Linda E. Stoutenburgh (VA), and Nancy J. Burns (FL); nieces Kathy Libby (NH), Kelsey Moquete (GA), Vanessia Rodriguez (GA), Stephanie Sharpe (GA); nephews, Bryan Stoutenburgh (VA), Robert Sharpe (Canada), Michael Ricks (FL), and Brandon Burns (FL).
Jimmie loved living his life in Salem, AL delving in real estate, refurbishing homes, and driving the school bus for Lee County, where he retired. He enjoyed meeting and talking to whomever had the time. He was loved and cherished by many friends and family and will be sadly missed. Jimmie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Phenix City.
The family will receive friends at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where a celebration of his life and spiritual service will begin at 6:30 PM.
