Jonathan Bert Lambert Beasley

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus at 1:00 PM. Burial with full military honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society , 233 12th St # 710, Columbus, GA 31901-2422.

Mr. Beasley was born in 1949 in Blakely, GA to the late Gordon Jonathan Beasley and Jennie Mae Harrell Beasley. He joined the United States Marine Corps after leavng high school, having been deployed to Vietnam and later being stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego and Parris Island, South Carolina as a drill instructor. Mr. Beasley retired from the Marine Corps in 1988 as a First Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rachel Lockhart Beasley, two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Heide M. Beasley of Ft. Mitchell; two daughters, Tina Dotlich of Columbus and Jessica Smith (Chris) of Columbus; four grandchildren, Joshua Wells, Bobby Beasley, Caleb Smith and Rachel Dotlich; three brothers, Daniel Beasley (Judy) of Abbeville, Wade Beasley (Pat) of Cusseta and Elvin Beasley (Evelyn) of Abbeville; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
