Jonathan Marvin Willis Jr., age 65, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday January 27, 2019. Jonathan was born February 7, 1953 in Opp, Alabama, to Vida Morris and Jonathan Willis. He was born hearing and speech impaired, however; that didn’t slow this Free Spirit down. Jonathan never met a stranger. He loved his freedom, God, and his family. Jonathan through a lot of patients taught his family how to communicate with signing. He will always be remembered as that free spirited, best friend of a brother who was loved and will always be missed.
Jonathan was preceded in death by; mother, Vida Morris Shelton; step father, Therman Shelton; father, Jonathan Willis and step mother, Jean Willis. He is survived by; his sister, Virlon Virginia Willis; his brother, Wayne Willis and sister-in-law, Diane Willis; brother, Earl Willis and sister-in-law, Monica Willis; nieces; nephews; other family members; and many friends.
A graveside celebration of life for Jonathan will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907.
