Joseph "Joey" McFarlin, age 34, of Columbus, Georgia, died Thursday, June 4, 2020 at his residence. Joey was born June 5, 1985 to Randy and Vicki McFarlin. He attended Harris County High School and graduated in 2004. Along the way he acquired many friends who would describe him as playful, helpful, loving and loyal. Some of those friends would become like family. Thank you to those who stood by him as he tried to navigate life.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Henry Alton McFarlin, and his maternal grandfather, Jimmy Lee Snider.
He leaves behind two beautiful children who he loved dearly, Joseph Alton Lee McFarlin, Jr. (12) and Emma Maria McFarlin (9) of Columbus, GA; girlfriend of several years, Hope Devor; parents, Randy and Vicky McFarlin of Hamilton, GA; sister, Randi Lynn Davis (Steve); nieces, Kallie Nicole Davis and Carlie Lynn Davis; nephew, Carter Steven Davis, all of Fortson, GA; paternal grandmother, Frances McFarlin, of Fortson, GA; maternal grandmother, Sue Flowers (James) of Columbus, GA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will all miss him greatly.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 10am in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11am with Rev. Willie Martin officiating. Burial following at Parkhill Cemetery. The family requests attendees to wear their best UGA attire to honor Joey.
