Joy Petty Terhune

Cryptside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Chapel of the Pines in Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, GA. with Rev. Chip Grantham of Upatoi United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary of Columbus.

Mrs. Joy was married to the late Robert W. Terhune for 40 years, where they had lived since 1963. She retired from Bell South after 35 years of service. Mrs. Joy was a member of Upatoi United Methodist Church and in the organizations of the American Business Women’s Association, the Communication Workers of America and Columbus Audubon Society.

She is survived by step-son Greg Terhune and his wife Barbara of Camby, IN. two grandchildren: Nathan Terhune, his wife Laura and their daughter, Bridgipte Waltz of Camby, IN, Rebecca Ellerman and her husband Glenn and their daughter, Bailey Josephine “Josie” of Brooklyn, IN.

In Lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Upatoi United Methodist Church, 13730 Macon Rd, Upatoi, GA 31829.
