A visitation for family and friends for Joyce will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907 followed by a celebration of Joyce's life at 2:00 PM.
Joyce was born August 30, 1929 in Phenix City, Alabama to Fannie Louise Wood Pope and Haywood Ashby Pope. She was a very faithful, sweet, kind Christian Caregiver. Joyce was shy and didn’t want the spot light but her light shinned through her love of the Lord. Joyce loved good southern style cooking, good Christian music, church plays and watching old movies on TV. She raised 2 boys and a girl, most of the time by herself, to be fine adults. She loved them and they were always there for her. Joyce will forever be remembered as a Prayer Warrior, mother, grandmother, wife and friend.
Joyce’s husband Elmo Bailey; mother Fannie Louise Wood Pope and father Haywood Ashby Pope; and sister Betty Lockwood, preceded her in death. She is survived by son Eddie Kelley (Barbara); son Terry "Mike" Anderson (Alice); and daughter Patricia Runchy; grandchildren Chris Anderson (Christina), Tracy Ridley, Terry Fredrick (Ben), Brittany Kelley, Jeff Runchy, David Raunchy and grandchild David Raunchy. Mrs. Joyce leaves behind 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild to cherish her memories.
