Judy Boyce was born in Columbus, Ga. on August 23, 1940, daughter of the late Dorothy Smith Lowe and George Ross Lowe, Jr. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus and attended Wynnton School and graduated from Columbus High School in 1958. She attended the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Later, she married “the love of her life”, Harry F. Boyce, Jr. They were married for almost 50 years until his death in 2010.
Judy was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church and enjoyed her volunteer work at the St. Luke Food Pantry. She also enjoyed her volunteer work through the Junior League of Columbus and at St. Francis Hospital.
She cherished her family and was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend.
She enjoyed playing tennis in her younger years, walking at Lakebottom Park, gardening and being an active member of the Sprig & Dig Garden Club.
In her later years, she enjoyed Bible Study, the Reading Club, playing bridge, and celebrating birthdays with her close childhood friends.
She is survived by her son, Scott Laney Boyce (Frances), her daughter, Elizabeth Kirven Boyce, grandchildren William Chaffin Boyce (Margaret), and Mary Mackie Boyce, along with her great grandson Winn Caldwell Boyce.
