Judith Mary Ossenfort Reis, age 68, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was born to the late Albert and Anna Marie Ossenfort on August 4, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa. Judy graduated from Luverne High School in 1969, where she grew up with her wonderful family of fourteen sisters and brothers.
Funeral Services will be held in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00 am. Family and friends will gather from 10:00-11:00 am, prior to services.
Judy was a devout Christian, a member of the Lutheran Church throughout her life, and has been attending and a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Columbus, GA. She has had a long successful career with Bob Carter Enterprise, managing the property and serving the residents of Pembrook Apartments for 45 years. She has been active in the community, long time member of Columbus Apartment Association, Hope Harbour Battered Women’s Shelter – Ladies Auxiliary, and was just starting to taste the life of retirement. Judy was the life of the party, she had an innate talent for loving people deeply, making them feel warm and welcomed and a part of the family. She loved in abundance, she laughed infectiously and lived her life with no regrets.
She was preceded in death by Denny Ossenfort, Larry Ossenfort, Loren (Grace) Ossenfort and David (Linda) Ossenfort, her sister Marlene (Lyle) Lundgren, and brothers-in-law Roger Gehrke and Ronnie Hansen. She is survived by daughter, Kim (Kevin) Adams and sons, Craig (Katy) Palmer, and Ryan (Lindsey) Reis. Her grandchildren were her whole world, and she was so incredibly proud of each and every one of them; Coleton, Sierra, Zachary, Haley, John Franklin, Maxwell, Bo, Lee and CJ. Judy was known as Gammie, Giddy, Giggie, JuJu to so many children throughout her lifetime, that it was not unusual to be grandmother to so many special people in her life (Tyler, Cody, Madison, Bryce) that was just the kind of person she was, genuine, caring and loving beyond measure. Judy had a special bond with her siblings, she is survived by; Don (Barb) Ossenfort, Rodger (Dianne) Ossenfort, Lois (Norman) Nath, Carol (Virgil) Oltmans, Debbie Gehrke, Linda (Gene) Molden, Alice Hansen, Brenda (Keith) Staeffler, Kathy (Keith) Scholten, and sisters-in law, Diane Ossenfort and Marcia Ossenfort
