Judy Foster Anderson

A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM in The Edgewood Hall at Stiffler-Hamby Funeral Home, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. Interment will follow in the New Life Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Geneva, GA. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home.

Judy was born and raised in Griffin, GA. She was the oldest of four children of Earlene Foster and the late Arthur Lee Foster. In addition to her father, Judy was preceded in death by her grandparents, J.C. and Sally V. Foster and Lee and Kathleen Daniel and her brother in law, James Morris.

Judy was a very creative, passionate and loving lady. When she entered a room, her presence brightened the whole atmosphere. Judy was an accomplished musician and song writer. Judy began performing in her early childhood with Singing Fosters and also performed with the Seekers and Reflections. She had many chart topping hits. She was very proud of the number 1 hit that she had, We Shall Reign which remained number one on the gospel charts for 14 weeks. Judy was also a minister of the Gospel.

Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She loved being with her family, especially her grandkids. Judy was also known for her great cooking skills. She could put together a meal for a crowd in no time. We will miss her presence daily; however we look forward to the day we will be together again.

Survivors include her children, Lee Stewart, Lynn Rhodes (Jay), Larry Cureton and Lisha Sanders (Keith); her grandchildren, Jessica Stewart, Justin Stewart, Ashley Johnson, Chay Rhodes, Alivia Ellsworth, Kaleb Sanders, Logan Sanders, Blake Cureton, Brian Sanders, II and Dylan Cureton; her great grandchildren, Jaren Johnson, Tristan Johnson and Killian Johnson; her mother, Earlene Foster; her brothers and sisters, Chet Foster (Debbie), Debra Morris, Michael Foster and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
