Karen was a devoted Christian whose faith was an important part of her life. She had a love for the simple joys that made life beautiful. She enjoyed the beach, gardening, listening to the Rolling Stones, and spending time with the people she loved most.
Above all, Karen was a loving grandmother. She was especially excited to be a grandmother and loved nothing more than spoiling her grandchildren. Her daughter, Paige Cortiss, and son-in-law, Chris, along with her beloved grandchildren, Hudson and Henry, brought tremendous joy to her life. Her grandchildren will forever remember the love, warmth, and excitement she brought into their lives.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Paige Cortiss of Loganville; son-in-law, Chris; grandchildren, Hudson and Henry; and her mother, Sue Pritchett of Lilburn. She was preceded in death by her father earlier this year.
Karen’s unexpected passing leaves a profound emptiness for her family and friends, but her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and, most of all, through the family she loved so deeply.
Karen will be laid to rest beside her father in Columbus, Georgia, on Tuesday, August 18, at 11:00 a.m at Parkhill Cemetery. Her family will be having a memorial at a later date.
