She was born in 1917 in Phenix City, Alabama. Mrs. Katherine was a lifelong resident of Phenix City. She was married to the late Henry Wallace Hightower. Mrs. Katherine loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
What a life to live in a century and four years! Mrs. Katherine has lived through two world wars, the Great Depression, and not to mention the technology she has witnessed during the last century. She was Christian by faith and was blessed beyond measure with a large loving family that she truly and dearly adored and loved. Mrs. Katherine has been a member of Woodland Baptist Church of Phenix City, Alabama since 1972. She was a youth and adult Sunday School Teacher throughout the years at Woodland Baptist. She loved her church family.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her children: Dan Hightower, Linda Riley, Tommy (Kay) Hightower, and Monty Hightower; her loving and adored grandchildren: Darlene, Dan “Bubba”, Julie, Donna, Jerry, Brent, Matthew, Chad, Nobia, and Ronnie; and 53 great and great great- grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Janice Hightower. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wallace Hightower, her son, Donnie Hightower; grandsons: Todd, Donavan and Christopher.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia with Reverend Jonathan Pike officiating. Family will visit with friends before the service beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
