Kathleen Bishop Jones

Kathleen Lokey Bishop Jones passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at her home surrounded by three generations of devoted loved ones. She was born on September 10, 1934 in Atlanta, the eldest of four children of Hugh Montgomery Lokey, Jr and Kathleen Shaw Lokey.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of five years, Milton Jones, and by her daughters, Anne Gay (Edward), and Carolyn Miller.

She was cherished as Nana to a loving arm-full of grandchildren: Kate May, Amber Raben (Louis), Megan Low (Tad), Ben Miller (Shea), Hamilton Miller, Mallory Freeman (Ryan), Alex Miller (Paige), Carson Miller, and Bob May.

And her fourth generation of great-grands, Anne Elizabeth, Lucy, and Carolyn May, Emma and Charlotte Raben, Maddox and Reese Low, Shaw, Collins and Tucker Miller, Hayes and Ryan Freeman, and Turner Miller.

She also leaves two brothers, Hugh and Tom Lokey, nieces, a nephew and cousins, cherished family members, Mason, Parker, Louis and Heidi Raben, Janice Wilmot (Chip), Eleanor Williams, and Michael Jones (Suzanne), and beloved care-givers Verseca Burtin, Nekiya Griffin and L&M Care4U.

Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, son-in-law Craig Miller, brother Steve Lokey, mother-in-law Lou (Be) Bishop, and Anne and Carolyn’s father, Norman (Buddy) Bishop.

Kathleen enjoyed a long career in media with the Muscogee County School District and loved reading with children, her own and others’. She also enjoyed working at Parisians’ children’s department and at St. Luke Early Learning Center. Kathleen was a life-long Episcopalian and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 21, 2026 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Columbus, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Columbus Hospice or Chattahoochee Valley Imagination Library.
