
Kathryn was born on January 23, 1931 in Columbus to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Robertson Kinnett. Her life exemplified Christ-like service to others. Kathryn was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder and Deacon as well as being active on the Mission Ministry Team. Earlier this year, she was awarded the Mildred Frazer Kinnett Award for her work in missions at First Presbyterian. Kathryn taught math for several years at Columbus High School and Hardaway High School, and also served as a math tutor. She was also a passionate participant in bridge for many years, and was involved in the WW Investment Club and the Junto Study Club. She graduated from Columbus High School and Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Kathryn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many others as Deauful. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Thomas Edwin Adams; her son, Thomas Edwin Adams, Jr. (Susan); her daughter, Julie Adams Burrus (Jake); her son John Kinnett Adams (Ashley); her grandchildren Thomas Edwin Adams III (Jessica), Julie Adams Hawkins (Michael), Felix Jacob Burrus III, John Kinnett Adams, Jr., Maxim Adams Burrus, Kathryn Louise Adams and Robert Edwin Adams; her great-granchildren Thomas Edwin Adams IV and James Cecil Adams; her brother, John Robertson Kinnett, Jr.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would especially like to thank Gertie and all of the loving caregivers that helped make Kathryn’s life more comfortable.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to the Christian Service and Mission Fund of the First Presbyterian Church, at 1100 First Avenue, Columbus, Georgia 31901.
