Katy Lou Linder

Katy L Linder, 83, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully September 24, 2017 under the loving care of Kinder Hospice. Mrs. Linder was born July 3, 1934 in Brookhaven, MS to her late parents Perlie and Bertha Lofton. She was a former Sales Manager, Customer Service Manager and Retail Manager at Fort Benning’s PX for over 22 years. Katy loved to read, work crossword puzzles; watch CNN, The Weather Channel and SEC football. She loved her cats (Cleo and Honey Punkin) and was a member of Pinehurst Baptist Church.

The family will welcome guests for visitation Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11: 00 am. at Pinehurst Baptist Church, 4217 St. Mary’s RD. Columbus, GA. A Celebration of Mrs. Linder’s Life will begin at 11:30 in the auditorium of Pinehurst Baptist, followed by a Committal Service at Fort Benning’s Main Post Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Tony Dickerson and Chuck Fletcher officiating.

Mrs. Linder was preceded in death by: her husband Gordon Linder, sister Winnie Belle Hall and brother, Zeke Lofton. She is survived by: her daughter, Patricia Linder of Cochran, GA; her son, Gordon (Lisa) Linder of Alpharetta, GA; nieces, Sandra (Rudy) Pope, Suzette (Jimmy) Durr, and Gail (Mike) Kimble; her nephew, Mike (Donna) Lofton; caregiver, Debra Jones; neighbors and friends, Mathilde Graves and Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher.
