Kenneth was born on February 27, 1950 in Ft. Benning, Georgia to the late Frank William Ellis, Sr. and Grace Lois Ellis. He attended Jordan High School as part of class 1968 and spent many years as the produce manager of Piggly Wiggly. He married the love of his life, Rena Faye Ellis, and they spent a beautiful 55 years together.
He was a big fan of playing games like uno and parcheesi with his grandchildren, as well as cards, poker, slot machines, horse shoes, and pool with his friends. Golf and fishing were hobbies that he took great joy in and he loved watching westerns on TV in his downtime, especially Gunsmoke.
Above all else, family and his mini goldendoodle, Rosie, were the most important to him—although, it competed strongly with Alabama Football.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his loving parents, Frank William Ellis, Sr. and Grace Lois Ellis, his sisters Melba Michael, Shirley Lois Eppinette, and Margaret Voorhees.
He is survived by his wife Rena Faye Ellis, his daughter Angela Faye Strickland (Gene), his son Kenneth Cadel Ellis, Jr., his four grandchildren Amanda Faye Burkett, Jacob Alexander Ellis, and John Cole Burkett, his brother Frank William Ellis, Jr. (Lynelle), and his sister Lora Ellis Pflugrad, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Fisher Chapel, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, Georgia, 31907, with a memorial service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
