Kenneth Inganman "Ike" Jensen
September 7, 1949 – October 6, 2019
SSG (Ret) Kenneth Inganman "Ike" Jensen, 70, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on October 6, 2019 at Columbus Hospice House after a long battle with health issues. A service with military honors will be held graveside at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery on Friday, October 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Fort Mitchell, Alabama.
Jensen was born September 7, 1949 in Scobey, Montana to Dixie Whipple Morset and Frederick Jensen, both of Scobey. He graduated from Terry High School in Terry, Montana. After graduation, Jensen joined and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army where he served during the Vietnam War, he retired after over 20 years of service. When he retired from the Army, he worked with Synovus as their Security Officer.
He is survived by his spouse of 47 years Hwang Ye Jensen; his daughter, Patty Swint and her spouse Stephen Swint of Cataula, Georgia; two grandsons: Corey Swint and Brandon Swint both of Cataula, Georgia; sister, Kym Jensen of Billings, Montana; sister-in-law, Paula Jensen of Scobey, Montana; two nieces: Shelley Buer and family of Scobey, Montana and Suzie Costin and family of Billings, Montana; Aunt Eddy Benson of Kalispell, Montana; and Great Aunt Cleo Corey of Scobey, Montana.
Ike will be most remembered by his family and friends as talkative soul with a whole bunch of stories. He loved hunting and fishing, tinkering with automotives and lawn equipment, having candy stashed everywhere and of course a can of Copenhagen in his shirt pocket!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Jensen and Perry Jensen and his niece Stacey Jensen. Memorial contributions can be made to Columbus Hospice at www.columbushospice.com.
