Lanora C. Winderweedle, age 87, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. A visitation for family and friends of Lanora will be held Monday, February 14, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Evangel Church Assembly of God, 5350 Veterans Parkway, Columbus, Georgia 31904; A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM.
Lanora was born on October 7, 1934 in Adel, Georgia; the daughter of Marcus Carter and Robbie Florence Cannon Carter. She was one of seven children in a home where love abounded. She graduated from Cook County High School and went on to attend and graduate from Dental Assistant School in Indianapolis, IN. Lanora married Raymond H. Winderweedle on November 1, 1952. She and Ray loved each other deeply and they were a wonderful example to their children of a loving relationship, one that honored God, and showed the importance of family. She was a member of Evangel Church Assembly of God, she enjoyed studying the bible, attending bible study class, and she was a member of the Joint Heirs Life Group. Lanora retired as a crown and bridge specialty dental assistant at Fort Benning, GA. Their children always knew mom and dad were always there for them. They showed that same love and devotion to their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in Death by: her husband, Raymond H. Winderweedle; Her parents, Marcus Carter and Robbie Carter; and a brother, Raymond Carter.
Survivors include: three children: Cathy Bolin, husband Steve of Columbus, GA; Rick Winderweedle, wife Paula of Pendergrass, GA; Mark Winderweedle, wife Angie of Grayson, GA; six grandchildren; Brad Jones, wife Lisa, Ryan Winderweedle, wife Beth, Rachel Campbell, husband Mark, Erika Winderweedle, Mitch Winderweedle, wife Anna, Joel Winderweedle; twelve great grandchildren; her siblings, Mildred Refroe of Wilmore, KY, Eugene Carter of Goldsboro, NC, Patricia Carter of Columbus, GA, Boneta Sellars of Valdosta GA; and Brinson Carter, of Stockton UT.
