Larry W Casey

Larry was born on July 23, 1950 in Columbus to Arthur and Odell Casey. Larry attended Columbus public schools and graduated from Jordan Vocational High School in 1968. Larry married Betty Jo Dowling on March 16, 1968.

Larry continued his education at Columbus Technical School and through his many years with Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local 52. His career expanded through his employment with McAbee Construction, moving up the ladder through hard work and dedication, and retired from Westvaco, now WestRock Paper Mill, after 43 years. Upon his retirement, Larry continued to be involved in the paper industry through consulting with WestRock and International Paper Company.

His greatest joy was spending time with his immediate and extended family along with his many friends whom he loved like family. Larry also loved caring for his beloved pets Roma, Tory, and Leo.

Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Jo Casey, daughter, Kendall Snider (Jeff), three granddaughters Casey Marie Giles, Josie Campbell Giles, and Sara Beth Snider, his beloved sister-in-law Merle Dowling Elmore, nephew Joe Elmore, two nieces, Kay Elmore Phillips (Wayne), Cindy Elmore. Larry was predeceased by parents Arthur and Odell, in-laws Joseph James Dowling and Betty Berline Dowling, and infant daughter, Christy Lynn.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 5 at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road at 10 a.m. in the St. Elmo Room followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Mill Room. Internment will follow the service at Parkhill Cemetery.
