

Major (Ret) Lawrence “Larry” Pallotta, age 55, resident of Phenix City, AL, died on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Doctor’s Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, February 19, 2010, 10 am with Father Frank Patterson as Celebrant of the Mass. Interment will follow at West Point Post Cemetery, West Point, NY. Rosary will be said on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the funeral home at 6 p.m. with the family receiving friends afterwards till 8 p.m.
Major Pallotta, son of the late Ralph Pallotta and Gilda Ciccone Pallotta, was born August 9, 1954 in Newton, MA. He was retired from the U.S. Army where he served honorably for 20 years. Major Pallotta graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1976 where he both played hockey and later served as the Assistant Coach for four years. Larry was a film buff, loved music, the Red Sox, and cooking (favorite dish: Lasagna). After retiring from the military, he began a new career at Uptown Columbus, Inc. He then worked at the Coca Cola Space Science Center, where he faithfully served for over 12 years. Major Pallotta was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, serving as a Lector and an Usher.
Major Pallotta is survived by his wife, Susan Pallotta of Phenix City, AL; one son, James Pallotta of Seattle, WA; Gilda C. Palotta of Milford, MA; Mother-in-law, Laura S. Gibson; two step-daughters, Nancy Botting of Alexandria, VA and Christina Russo of Tallahassee, FL; one step-son, Eric VANIM-Botting and his wife Jeanne of Brownfield, ME; two sisters, Donna WOLF and her husband Ed of Milford, MA and Nicole Lathrop and her husband Scott of Hopedale, MA; three brothers, Peter Pallotta and his wife Kate of Dublic, NH, Tom Pallotta and his wife Cheryl of Medway, MA and Chris Pallotta and his wife Pat of Crofton, MD; several nieces; nephews; Step-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, 320 12th Street, Columbus, GA 31901. Condolences may be made at www.shcolumbus.com.
