Lexie was a people person and met no strangers. She has a caring heart and would help anyone if she could. She had a beautiful smile that she greeted you with whenever she was in your presence and always had something to say to make you smile. She never left you without something funny to laugh about. And by doing so, she made friends whenever and wherever, online and off. She was just as she wanted to be. Her favorite saying was “accept me as I am or don’t accept me at all.”
Lexie was a very devoted mother to her son, Chris. She taught him to always forgive others. Chris brought his mother joy just by laughing and being happy. They enjoyed time together by going to restaurants, traveling and always living life to the fullest.
She worked as a dedicated provider for more than 15 years with Pineywoods. She also worked one year Arbor & Mary Jo Lees, with Lone Star Feed Mill for 11 years, with NISD for 6 years and with Green Acre Farms & Pilgrim Pride for 4 years, before moving to Columbus, GA to be with her son Chris.
Lexie was preceded in death by her father, Roy Parks Jr.; her aunts, Althis Jean Russaw, Linnie Jewel Forney, and Fannie Gines; and a special family friend who was like a grandfather, Honey Boy Long.
She leaves to cherish so many happy memories, her son, SSG Chris Parks, U.S. Army; husband, Lewis Henderson, Jr.; sisters, Paula Hoyt, Teresa Land, Carolyn Yarborough and Jeanette Parks; brothers, Raymond Parks and Terry Parks; nieces, Whitney Frazier, Mikiya Davis, Miya Davis and Meagan Lathan; nephews, Brandon Lathan, Michael Davis, LaCotty Davis, Enrique Land and Damion Frazier. She also leaves a very, very, very special sister, Brenda “Bren” Thomas, a wonderful sister that Lexie asked God for. A special shout out to nephews, Jamark and Arkell Mallory for calling Lexie “Crazy Woman”. She leaves a host of other relatives and friends to cherish her loving memory.
