It is with broken hearts and deep love that we share the passing of Linda Sue Thomas Hocking, age 62. She passed on April 17, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her daughters and husband, her strength unwavering to the very end.
Linda was born on May 10, 1962, in Erlangen, Germany . She was predeceased by her parents Jimmy Carole Thomas and Irene Babette Thomas, also a sister Christine Thomas.
She dedicated her life to nurturing others—with her heart, her hands, and her quiet grace. She spent 25 years working as a labor and delivery surgical tech, where she found her true joy and purpose of bringing new life into this world. She poured her heart into every family she cared for, every newborn she welcomed, and every mother she gently supported. It brought her endless fulfillment, and her coworkers often described her as a calming, steady presence in the most sacred moments of life.
Outside of work, Linda lived with the same warmth she gave to others. Some of her favorite memories were made proudly watching her children and grandchildren grow and thrive, feeling the sun on her face at the beach, and taking peaceful cruises and bike rides with her husband that gave her both adventure and serenity. She found beauty in life’s little joys and always knew how to make others feel cared for and seen.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Timothy Hocking and loving children Christopher James Thomas (Dianne), Michele Irene Wilkins and Brittany Lee Hopkins (Logan). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Cason Thomas, Natalie Rose Hopkins, Wyatt James Hopkins, Emma Grace Hopkins and Evelyn Blake Robillard, extended family, and a lifetime of grateful friends and coworkers. Her compassion, strength, and legacy will live on through every life she touched.
