A visitation will be held for friends and family on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM officiated by Mike McGinnie at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Linda was born on December 04, 1947, in New-Castle, Indiana to George and Florence J. Butler. She worked hard as a valued Winn Dixie cashier for 13 years. Linda put her faith in Christ and was a strong, loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend to all who knew her. She loved to sit in nature and watch the birds in her yard and loved to do many activities with her grandchildren. Linda instilled in her children from a very young age to be strong, independent people full of love and care.

She is preceded in death by her parents George B. Butler and Florence J. Butler.
Linda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Newman, daughters, Debra Casper (Mike) and Teresa Ridenour; brothers, Steve and Rex Butler, sisters, Sue, Shirley, and Sondra Butler; grandchildren, Christopher, Tonya, Kenneth, and Johnathen; great-grandchildren, Lily and Gage Clements, Devan Whitt, Noah and Nicholas Leophord.
