

Linda Faye Huguley Whipple, 76, of Phenix City, AL., died on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center. A Graveside Service is scheduled on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00am in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road Columbus. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus.
Mrs. Whipple, daughter of the late R.P. Huguley and Marie Smith Huguley, was born November 9, 1940 in Columbus, Georgia.
She graduated from Chavala High School in Seale, Alabama in 1958 and attended Columbus College, graduating with a Business Degree. Mrs. Whipple met her husband Harry while attending college and married on April 9, 1961. After Mr. Whipple enlisted in the U.S. Navy, they lived in San Diego, CA until returning to Phenix City in 1972.
She began working at the Columbus Ledger Enquirer in the Circulation department for 26 years and retired in 2007. Mrs. Whipple was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed dearly.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Whipple Jr.; brother, Ted Huguley Sr.; and sister, Doris Wash.
Mrs. Whipple is survived by her daughters, Cyndi Wright (Clarence Jr.), Julie Hilker (Craig); grandchildren, Jessica Wright, Taylor Hilker, Paige Wright, Lane Hilker; great grandchildren, Xavier Horace, Jaxson Horace.
