Lloyd French, age 73, of Columbus, GA passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023. A visitation for the family and friends of Lloyd will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Columbus, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL Highway-165, Fort Mitchell, AL.
Lloyd was born on May 30, 1950 in Mobile, Alabama; the son of Charles E. French and Allie Lenora “Naomi” French. Lloyd joined the U.S. Air Force, after his service he resided in Columbus, GA. He graduated from Columbus College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Political Science and Government. He then graduated from Georgia Real Estate School and became a Real Estate Broker. He owned his own real estate company and worked for many other real estate companies in the Columbus area over the last 47 years. Lloyd served on the Columbus Board of Realtors, ensuring the betterment of the profession that he loved. Lloyd enjoyed golfing and hunting, when he was with his friends or family they were enjoyed that much more. Lloyd lived life to the fullest; he loved his family and his friends, he never missed an opportunity to get together celebrate life with them.
Lloyd is preceded in death by: his parents, Charles and Naomi French; and a brother Charles Gilbert French.
Survivors include: his sister, Pam (Bob) Carson; his children, Jennifer (Rodney) Speegle, Kristina (Dave) Norberry, MiChelle Cross, Brandi (Dan Zajac) French; grandchildren, Waverly McCollum, Savannah Kohler, Grace Norberry, Keegan Duke, Layla Cross, Timothy Norberry, Ryenn Norberry, Haylee Norberry, Benji French-Erickson, Colby Norberry, AnMarie Zajac, Caiden Zajac, great grandchildren, Mateo Hendricks, Lincoln Hendricks; nieces, Janice Donner, Heather Carson, Amber Hof, Heaven French; great nieces and nephews, JN Donner, Ruthie Donner, Lily Hof, Adin Hof, Brigett Becket, Naomi French; and numerous friends and business associates which will cherish is memory.
