Lois J. Gentry

Lois J. Gentry, a devoted, beloved, and hard-working mother and grandmother, passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Columbus, Georgia, on July 31, 1938, Lois was a resident of Midland, Georgia.

Lois was a devoted mother to her daughters, Susan Garver and her husband Eric Garver, Teresa Robinson, Angela Spears and her husband Doug Spears, and Tina Gentry and her husband Morris House. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Hearn Holloway and Ellis Holloway, her sons, Steve Deaton and Randall Deaton, and her brother, Ellis Holloway, Jr. Lois also leaves numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren to cherish her loving memory.

Lois loved her family; they were her universe. She was a caregiver for many of the elderly in her community. She was passionate about caring for others. Lois will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in the Fisher Chapel, located at 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia, on January 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 11:00 am.

Lois will be laid to rest in Parkhill Cemetery, located at 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia.
