

Eddie Daffin was born in Columbus, Georgia on January 18, 1947, to Lonnie Edgar Daffin and Lunette Lolley Daffin.
Eddie grew up working in his family’s grocery business. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1965, received his BS from Columbus State University and his M.Ed from the University of Southern California. He served 4 years in the US Air Force stationed in Japan. After returning home from the Air Force, he taught at Columbus High School for two years and then served as Assistant Principal at Hardaway High School for seven years until he decided to leave education. He started a new career in the trucking business and a few years later he and a couple of business partners bought Columbus Foundries Truck Fleet and started Eastern Service Corp. where Eddie was named EVP and eventually served as President until retirement.
On August 20, 1966, Eddie married his childhood sweetheart, Julia Anne Reynolds. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage together until she passed away February 1, 2024.
Eddie was an avid golfer and had a great group of golf buddies that he enjoyed friendship, fun and fellowship with for over 50 years.
Survivors include his son, Mark Daffin; grandsons, Peyton Daffin (Brianna), Seth Daffin (Kylie), Ryder Wilson and Spencer Wilson and great grandchildren, Rayne Daffin and Berkley Daffin; brothers Chris Daffin (Mary B) and Alan Daffin (Lyndee) and sister, Julie Dickson (Donnie), niece, Rebecca DeLoach (Jon), as well as many close cousins and wonderful friends.
A visitation will be held at Striffler Hamby Mortuary on Macon Road on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the St. Elmo Room.
