Loujetter “Lou” Forehand, 92, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on October 8, 2026. Born November 8, 1933, in Chipley, Florida, she moved to Columbus when she was three years old and remained deeply rooted in the community she came to call home.
Lou graduated from Jordan High School and carried forward a steadfast, hard-working spirit throughout her life—one marked by devotion to family, faith, and the everyday responsibilities that quietly sustain others.
Lou was first employed with Centennial Cotton Gin Mfg Co. in Columbus and later worked with Civil Service at Ft. Benning. For 25 years, Lou served as an Administrative Assistant at North Highland Church, a role that reflected her loyal heart and compassionate nature. She gave her time with diligence and humility, offering support in ways both seen and unseen, and doing so with a steady kindness that others came to depend on.
A very active member of North Highland Church, Lou was also involved with the fine arts department and sang in the choir. Her faithful presence and gentle encouragement were a comfort to many and a consistent expression of the life she lived.
Lou was married to Harold Eugene Forehand for almost 70 years, until his passing in 2022. She cherished time spent with her husband and family, and she especially enjoyed camping—simple days that became lasting memories through her devoted attention and care.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Forehand (Sandi) of Inverness, FL, and Steve Forehand (Patty) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren Taylor Zurita (Hector), Kyle Forehand (Kait), Jessica Williams (Josh), Krystal Hutto (Brandon), Nicole Sizemore, and Noah Forehand (Carlyn); and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Forehand, and by a grandson, Eddie Sizemore.
