Mabel A. Preston

Mrs. Mabel A. Preston, age 93, passed away on April 19, 2012. Funeral services will be held in Parkhill Cemetery, Chapel of the Pines on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 – 5:00 PM.

Mrs. Preston was born on March 12, 1919 to the late Arthur and Laura Breakey in Tampa, FL. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where she took pride in being very active in Sunday school and church functions. Mrs. Preston loved being outdoors and working in her garden, as well as cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest O. Preston and her son, Forest R. Preston.

Survivors include her son Tim Preston (Barbara) of Columbus; a brother, Fred Breakey of Tampa, FL; eight grandchildren, Jessica Daffin (Mark), Kim Jones, Paige Bence (Bill), Clay Preston, Ashley Preston, Abby Beatty (Mark), Adam Preston and Barron Preston (Katie); six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 6065 Morningside Drive, Columbus, GA 31909.
