Maria B. Quinn, age 70, passed on March 14, 2026, at 4:15 pm; she was born June 7, 1955, in Panama and was a resident of Columbus, Georgia. Maria was a devoted, caring, and compassionate woman whose life was marked by love for family and a steady, faithful presence to those who knew her.
Maria worked at the PX on Fort Benning military base as a Sales Clerk, serving others with quiet dedication and pride in her work.
Above all else, Maria loved her family and cherished the family gatherings they shared together. She was also a big animal lover, known for her gentle heart and the warmth she extended to both people and pets alike.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ramon Ortiz; her mother, Angela Ortiz Santiago; her husband, Jackie B. Quinn; her twin brother, Juan Ortiz; her sister, Ramona Suggs; and her brothers, Ramon Ortiz Jr., and Angel Luis Ortiz.
She is survived by her sons, Chris Bonilla (Sharee) and William Bonilla (Michelle); her grandchildren, Ashanna Bonilla, Kayla Marie Bonilla Redmond, Amiya Bonilla Johnson, Jestini Glenn, William Bonilla II, Aayonna Hortman, and Chris A. Bonilla; her sisters, Myriam Ortiz Brown, Maria D.C. Nichols, and MaGarita Ortiz Clemmons; her brother, Luis Antonio Ortiz; her special caregiver, Veronica Simmons; and Maria also leaves behind 15 nieces/nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service for Maria B. Quinn will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, St. Elmo Room, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907, on March 20, 2026, at 10:00 am.
